Start Cartridge

Product Description

What is a Start Cartridge? Our cartridges are specialized gas generators that produce gas pressure from propellant grains to start turbojet engines. The output can be customized to specific performance factors for engine design. The cartridge is initiated with a 1-amp/1 watt electro-explosive device (EED) which can be initiated with standard battery power. With the addition of a PacSci EMC Igniter, you have all the components for a tailored engine start system for your program.

Inertia Reel Gas Generator

Product Description

Our Inertia Reel Gas Generator is used to retract the Inertia Reel Straps thereby placing the aircrew in the best possible posture prior to ejection. We have provided a range of gas generators for aerospace and defense. Our Inertia Reel Gas Generator, part number 0113226-23, is used on the Advanced Concept Ejection Seat (ACES II).

Pyrotechnic Gas Generator

Product Description

A solid propellant pyrotechnic gas generator is essentially an airbag inflator without a bag. The gas generated is discharged directly into ambience or purposefully contained for efficient use. Typically, a pyrotechnic gas generator consists of a solid propellant, which, upon ignition, rapidly reacts to generate gas-phase combustion products and particulates, an igniter to initiate the combustion of the propellant, a filter system to prevent or minimize or contain particulates from the combustive reaction, a heat transfer mechanism to cool the high temperature combustion gas and an exhaust mechanism to disperse the gas efficiently.

Our gas generators are a gas-producing pyrotechnic device – initiated by electro-explosive or mechanical percussion devices and Explosive Transfer Lines (ETLs).
