Go Digital with Minimal System Impact

Networked electronic ordnance devices incorporate an FPGA, bus driver Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and a slave (ASIC). All of the ordnance devices are wired in parallel on a bus, which supplies both data and power. The system features extensive diagnostics, low power operation and very low EMI. A variety of electrical connections and pressure outputs can be provided to meet customer’s specific design performance requirements. This allows many conventional pyrotechnic devices to be replaced by SEA™ system devices with minimal system impact. If your system requires a progressive, digital system, SEA™ is that system.

With a 100% success rate for satellite releases in orbit today, our smart initiator has truly proven itself. The smart initiator, with output equivalents equal to a NASA Standard Initiator, contains a small microelectronic board with a unique address. A digital command is sent over a data bus from the initiation controller, or Smart Controller, the smart initiator will then arm and fire only on command, when commanded. They are also MIL-DTL-23659 compliant and is 1A/1W.

Basically, a smart initiator has a chip embedded into it which in turn will synchronize and control massive events.

Satellite Propulsion System

Our Satellite Propulsion System provide station keeping, constellation management, decommissioning  and deorbiting to the small satellite market. Our MAPS™ satellite solid propulsion system is highly configurable and compact, complete with high-performance capabilities. Demonstrated and proven on a 3u CubeSat, MAPS is compatible with many small satellites and spacecraft, such as a 6u CubeSat and larger. Qualifying as a cubesat propulsion system, our satellite thrusters are now flight proven!

MAPS is an array of high performance, hermetically-sealed, solid propellant rocket motors, all of which extend the orbital life of CubeSats and SmallSats while providing propulsion capability for small upper stages.  The attitude control thrusters are customized for CubeSat propulsion systems configurations at least 3u CubeSat or larger. Our system can be used for orbital maneuvers, attitude control, decommission and deorbit with very precise and predictable delivered impulse. There is not nozzle and the module has no tanks, valves, tubing or heaters, making it a “plug and play” bolt-on design.

Satellite Deorbit & Precision Re-entry

P-MAPS™, our powered solid propulsion system, provides a fully powered module to assist with decommission and/or satellite deorbit. P-MAPS enables SmallSats and CubeSats to comply with 25-year lifetime restrictions in orbit.

P-MAPS includes a self-contained power supply, ADCS and UHF receiver, providing reliable power to deorbit in the event of satellite power loss. With all the same performance features as MAPS™ Solid Propulsion System (precise and repeatable impulse bits initiated with hermetically sealed, clean burning, solid propellant with no propellant tanks, valves, fittings, heaters or thrusters) and without any compromise to the satellite design by fitting into unused satellite volume. With our standby power unit, should satellite power supply malfunction, P-MAPS will continue to perform planned decommission and deorbit objectives.

U.S. Government Orbital Debris Mitigation Standard Practices (USGODMSP) and other agencies call for satellites to either deorbit within 25 years of mission completion or maneuver to a storage orbit. Most SmallSats do not contain propulsion to comply with these standard practices or maneuver to improved orbits after separation from the launch vehicle. Satellite owners now have an option for onboard propulsion AND deorbit.
