Cutting Edge Micro Gas Generators Delivered in 33 days
An oil and gas technology supplier was developing a new product and realized late in the development cycle that they would need a new form of micro gas generator (MGG) for their product to be successful. Without viable off the shelf solutions and with a deadline looming, the company tapped Pacific Scientific.
The task: Create a new MGG prototype in a few short weeks.
Pacific Scientific quickly assembled a development team, which determined to use an existing, high-performance initiation device, with custom, application-specific hardware and propellant, to meet the customer’s needs. The design requirements were outlined, a concept solution was developed, mathematical modeling was used to determine the configuration and custom hardware was ordered. Once the hardware was received, ballistic testing was completed in two days and the units were packaged for shipment.
The total time from concept to shipment of functional prototype units was less than five weeks.
